Rachael Kirkconnell’s sister Trinity sheds new light on his brother’s shock breakup with Matt James.
The Bachelor The couple were together for four years before James, 33, announced this week via Instagram that they had called it quits – just a day after sharing loved-up messages with Rachael, 28, while traveling in London.
The timing had fans scratching their heads – including the TikTok detective Gabby Whitewho shared a video via the social media platform on Friday, January 17, sharing speculation about why the breakup went the way it did.
“The last thing I will say, the strangest thing to me, is I know the London content was probably sponsored,” she said in the video. “He’s probably contractually obligated to post it, but the timing between having a happy post, being in the comments, being so affectionate and loving, publicly together and literally 12 hours later posting this insanely worded breakup message, it’s is the strangest part for me.
The video prompted a follower to respond in the comments section: “London’s old content makes sense if it was sponsored, but feels like he could have deleted it or not liked/replyed to comments about him on publications.”
Jumping in with new information, Trinity responded to the comment to clarify when her sister and James’ relationship ends.
“Yeah, so they were still together when he was posting all this…just to give some perspective on the timeline of things,” Trinity wrote.
A follow-up TikTok post from White revealed that Trinity claimed James uploaded her breakup message just three hours after the couple split.

James announced his split from Rachael in the early hours of Thursday, January 16 via Instagram.
“Father God, give Rachael and me the strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us peace on this decision to end our relationship that transcends the understanding of the world,” James wrote alongside a photo of him and Rachael on The Bachelor season 25.
Tagging Rachael in the post, James added: “Give our friends and family some kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our joy comes from you, Lord 💔.
James chose Rachael as the Bachelor winner during season 25, which aired in early 2021. However, during the After the Final Rose special in March of that year, James said they broke up after Rachael’s past racially insensitive social media activity has resurfaced. The couple reconciled a month later.
Following the post, some Bachelor fans wondered if Rachael had been “blindsided” by the split.
