Hoda Kotb is ready to start a new chapter after saying goodbye to NBC Today.

The television personality announced in September 2024 that she was leaving the morning show after nearly 30 years working for the network. “I just turned 60, and it was such a monumental moment for me when I turned 60 because I started thinking about this decade, like, what does this decade mean? What is he holding? What will this do for me? » she announced in tears on the air. “And I realized it was time for me to move on at 60 and try something new.”

During an October 2024 episode of Today with Hoda and JennaKotb revealed she plans to delve into the world of wellness after bidding Today farewell.

“I don’t know if you’ve ever had a desire, a calling, a desire and you can’t give it up, even if you try, because working at NBC is safer. … But sometimes you know there’s something else you want to try in your life,” she explained. “And I was so excited about the wellness area because I realized what was happening to me. Kotb shared specific details about his next career steps during a Jan. 6 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “I’m starting a wellness app and business that will involve retreats, a podcast and all kinds of things that we can get together and do things that I love,” she revealed. “It’s not like going to Mexico with your daughters, which is fun, but it’s something that when you leave, you’re like, ‘Oh my God, I feel transformed.’ I feel different.’

Although the company is still “under construction,” Kotb said the app is expected to launch in the spring.
