Chris Martin And Dakota Johnson visit tourist spots in India – and continue to shut down rumors that they have split.
Martin, 47, and Johnson, 35, were filmed taking part in a religious ceremony at Babulnath Temple, Mumbai’s Hindu house of prayer. In a video shared online on Friday, January 17, Martin burst into a smile after realizing he was being filmed. In a second, also posted Friday, Johnson is seen whispering a wish into a Nandi bull statue.
The two, engaged since March 2024, are in the country for a series of performances by Martin’s band Coldplay, ending rumors they had split when they were spotted walking together in Mumbai on Friday. Martin and Coldplay will perform a series of concerts in Mumbai until January 21 before heading to Ahmedabad, India, for two more shows. The group will then play in China and South Korea in April before returning to the United States in May.
A rep for Johnson denied further rumors of a breakup in August 2024 after the Daily Mail reported that the couple had ended their engagement. “This information is not true,” the representative explained. “They are happy together.”
Following their engagement in March 2024, the happy couple chose not to make a big public announcement.
“Chris and Dakota have been engaged for a while now, but they’re not the type to make big public announcements because they try to keep their relationship as private as possible,” a source said. We Weekly at the time. “They are not in a big hurry to get married and have not yet set a definitive wedding date.”
The source also said the couple planned to have Martin’s children Apple and Moses at their wedding, along with his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow. “Dakota and Gwyneth have become very close over the years and they now consider each other family. One of the most important things to Chris is how seamlessly Dakota fits into his and his children’s lives,” the source explained.
That same month, Johnson told Bustle how proud she was of Martin, especially watching him perform live. “I love watching it. I could watch him every day. I don’t know how to explain it,” she said at the time. “I feel like I don’t know…I’m watching my favorite person do his favorite thing. When people are really good at things, it’s (sexy.)”
We exclusively confirmed in December 2017 that Johnson and Martin were dating two years after his divorce from Paltrow was finalized (the couple were married from 2003 to 2014).
