Don’t call The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay A mean girl.
Andy Cohen Read a fan question during the Rhoslc Season 5 reunion on Wednesday, January 22, in which the viewer claimed Heather’s “Edge” came from her recent weight loss.
“Can you see how you were giving wicked energy this season?” the question read.
Heather, 50, looked shocked when she heard the question.
“I mean, it’s just an interesting read,” Heather replied. “I guess when I was heavier, I was more of an underdog. So it was OK when I stuck it out for me. Season 1 Heather had a lot more confidence than this girl. »
She continued: “This show strips you of your ego. It strips you of your confidence. When I was heavier, I had to fight a lot harder and I was a lot meaner.
Heather said she had brought “a lot more anger and rage” in the past.
Mary Cosby He was quick to chime in with kind words for his costar.
“I just feel like Heather is different. She loves herself more,” Mary said. “She pours more love into herself. I feel like when I first met Heather five years ago, she was very dark, she wasn’t happy. She was trying to get out of a very deep place that she had been left in from anyone who ridiculed her, anyone who tore her down. »
Mary called Heather “confident,” noting that the good-time author is “more confident” in coming after one of her costars.
“You have to have a lot more confidence to show up when no clothes fit. I’m wearing a stretchy jumpsuit, I’m next to all these beautiful women,” Heather added. “I have confidence in the shovel to do this whole show.”
Heather said she is “happy” and “proud” of how far she is coming.
“I don’t want this to make me meaner,” she continued. “I’m different, but that has nothing to do with the fact that I took medication that made me lose weight.”
Heather revealed in November 2023 that she was on Ozempic, a semaglutide developed to treat type 2 diabetes but has been used as a popular weight loss drug.
“I’ve been there for a long time, but I hadn’t really seen a lot of results,” she shared in an interview with People at the time. “I haven’t had massive results, but enough for people to notice, which is great.”
THE Rhoslc Star further opened up about her weight loss journey during Impact x Nightline: The Skinny Confessions: After OzempiC Docuseries, which premiered through Hulu in February 2024.
“It’s disappointing (and) sad to know that body positivity was all a big lie,” she confessed at the time. “Because it’s better not to be overweight.”
